    Default moving objects

    Hi

I have been trying out the new beta. Great work and potential. I am finding moving the objects a little unnatural. Is there any chance of a sort of translating widget so you can directly move the objects? Like rhino 5 beta (gumball) or spaceclaims widget.

    regards

    Jamie

I agree that some sort of tweaker would be really nice. I was just playing with Silo and really like the manipulator on that. It is very intuitive.

What would be great in Groboto is if the widget could be attached to any other part so selected item 'A' could be rotated or move with respect to widgeted item 'B'. This would really be good with the boolean because it seems like I'm constantly doing this to get that resulting shape I have in mind.
It's almost impossible to tell if your almost doing the impossible or doing the almost impossible... I think.

I'm referring to the win beta. What about you guys?

I have concerns about moving etc using widgets below the scene rather than ones imbedded in the scene like most other 3d software. You do interrupt your thinking having to look at the widget area rather than the object your are trying to manipulate. I find myself constantly dragging primitives along the wrong axis and I inadvertently turn off the axis I'm interested in. Also, when using the snap tools it seems that the end piece I'm dragging won't move in the axis I want and then all of a sudden snaps to where I'm aiming. At the moment I'm not sure whether there is something not working right or whether a different mode of working/thinking is required on my part.
