Hi Everyone,
GroBoto v3.2 for Mac and Windows has been released.
Just to be clear -- this is 3.2 with bitmap output (Texture maps based on the same GroBoto Field maps used for GroBoto's Vertex Maps), and enhanced OBJ output, including Group-Based Seam & Map settings.
Version 3.5 (with new Boolean Capabilities) is still a ways off..
The Texture Map output is complimented nicely by the other new feature… Group-Based Mesh and Map settings.
Now you can set unique Mesh and Map parameters for each GroBoto Group. GroBoto has had the ability to generate separate OBJ meshes (without unifying) based on groups for some time. However, prior to this v3.2 release, Mesh and Map settings were global -- same throughout entire scene.
GroBoto's procedural geometry means that these new bitmap versions of the Field Map are produced with extremely high fidelity. That precision yields a broad range of uses for these maps in any 3d app… Texture, Displacement, etc.
We plan on uploading a couple of videos to help get everyone started with these new features. There is also an update of the GroBoto-modo Toolkit that leverages these new features and automatically sets up imported GroBoto OBJs for modo modeling & texturing. I'll post that new toolkit on the GroBoto Site tomorrow.
Most major 3D apps have render-time micro-polygon displacement capabilities that take full advantage GroBoto, outputs high-rez 16-bit maps.

PS. If you download this new version, be sure to also snag the Mesh & Map Notes PDF (links on same page as the app download):
