Default Registration code for x64 version (and beta)

    Hi,

New. I've just recently become aware of the new developments with Groboto and love what I see and I'm now keen to refamiliarise myself with the program.

My problem is that I downloaded the x64 version (and the latest beta) but neither will accept my serial number. The dialog asks for a Registration Code but I've no idea whether this refers to the serial or something else. If something else, I have no idea where it is.

The downloads are supposed to recognise registered versions but obviously they haven't. My x32 version runs fine so it's not an emergency. I've already contacted Support but no reply as of yet.

Has anyone had the same problem or know if I'm doing something dumb? I've doublechecked leaving spaces before and after the number, by the way.

    Thanks.

    Hello Joe,

Apologies for the trouble... but an easy fix:
From our FAQ on this Forum:

    Best Wishes,
    Darrel

If you purchased GroBoto Version 2.x from Smith Micro, and then downloaded either our v2 64-Bit update or the 64-Bit version of the v3 Beta, you'll need a new (free) registration. Please send your current Smith Micro Code (or other proof of purchase), in a Private Message to the Mayor here, and we will send you a new code.
On a side note: (to all reading this), our FAQ section has very little GroBoto info at the moment (we will be filling it out over the coming weeks).

It Does have a lot of General Forum Help.

Thanks Darrel, message sent. Didn't notice the FAQ, been searching everywhere else!

    Hey Joe,

No problem -- we have not yet started promoting the FAQ, because it's still sparse.

Your your new code will arrive shortly (in your regular email).

    Best Wishes,
    Darrel

Well, I had wanted to run the 64bit version of Grobot 2 with my new system and perhaps try out the version 3 beta (which I have also pre-oredered). When I found this post I sent the request and after a few days received a message that a new number would be sent later that day. However, that was a month ago and while I've sent a follow-up message to ask if there was a problem, I've yet to receive a reply.

I guess I can wait for Version 3 to arrive, at least I have a Braid issued number for that - but as an upgrade I'm concerned that it too will require a Braid issued Version 2 number rather than the Smith Micro one, so I am a little concerned to get this resolved.

Is anyone able to deal with this or, if there is a problem, let me know about it?

    Hi Philebus,

    Sorry about that,
I'm certain I generated a new code for you -- perhaps it was snagged in a spam filter? ...not sure how I missed your followup.

In any case I've just sent both v2 & v3 codes to your regular email address (since you have pre-ordered v3, and the Windows v3 betas now accept v3 codes).

Everything is explained in that email.
    Cheers,
    Office of the Mayor

Many thanks for that...not sure my family would thank you though because they're now about to lose me for the Easter holiday
