Yes, on Vista it is C:/Users/Your Name/Documents/Braid Art Labs/Groboto/Primitives - and this will appear in Groboto as User Primitives.

I have Windows 7 Home Ed. and Groboto 2.1.8

    Wanizame,

2.98 referred to Groboto Beta version (currently 2.99f).

Documents/Braid Art Labs/Groboto/Primitives is the right place to put user primitives, as .gbr files. Are you saying that what you put there does not appear in the library under User Primitives?

Default Can I use these in AutoBots?

    Hi there!

These are some awesome primitives, and I'm appreciative to boris for having submitted them!
I have been trying to bring them into the object sequence chain for making new drawbots, but every time I do, the shapes revert to one of the primitives from the stock list.
Have I put these primitives in the wrong folder?
Is it even possible to use external primitives (or objs) to create new drawbots?

I'm going to keep going through the literature (Groboto v3, MacOSx 10.6.6) to see what options are available, but any responses I can get here would be great. Cheers!

    Rorosoro,

Unfortunately this is not possible right now. Bot algorithms use knowledge of particular object parameters, like radius and length for a cylinder, to attach objects to each other. A user-defined primitive, on the other hand, is something unknown - the algorithm would have no idea where it has its middle and its ends, if it has ends at all.

I suppose something can be done where the bot is generated using regular primitives like cylinders, spheres, etc., and then these regular primitives are substituted with similarly sized and oriented user primitives, without changing object positions. It will be left to the user if such substitution makes visual sense.

Thanks for this great primitives, Boris.
I've played with them today, and redered a picture under Vue10.
Really nice ! Thanks a lot ! One day, I hope i'll be able to make my own primitives like yours.

    Yazorius,

Great rendering! Clearly these interplanetary visitors left in great hurry...

Merci Boris.
