Hello

I am a user of Groboto for some time now, but I was forced to content myself with only the functions of Bot. In fact when I use the primitives and Boolean actions, I am faced with multiple errors, crashes, which make me lose everything I did. If today I am writing it's because I finally managed to create a small 3D model very simple, but coherent, in aim to try (again) to learn how to use these self-made meshes opportunities. But this model, moreover innocuous, always makes my PC crash every time I try to export it to "UniMesh", or if I press "M". Similarly, I have a concern by exporting only in primitive which, alas, disappear in half the exports, while those that remain are associated in my Boolean operations converted as primitives ... So whatever I do, I am entitled to a result that has absolutely nothing to do with my small basic model.

Allow me then to upload my model, so you tell me easily (I'm French, and English technical terms are not always obvious) where I could be wrong and how to rectify all that. Because my goal would be to export the model as UniMesh, keeping the Groboto's groups separate (to make easier the texturation). Normally this would be easily doable. But nothing to do, I can not succeed. Thank you for all the help you can give me.

Appears to be something to do with your model. All my other models work fine, that one crashes Groboto every time I try to generate a mesh.

EDIT: Further thought, possibly the file itself has become corrupt.

Yazorius,

I looked at your file and yes, there is a bug which will be fixed in the coming release 3.3. Meanwhile, you can fix this problem easily. There are these two wing-like attachments on the sides of totomobile. They are boolean clusters. If you activate either of them for editing you'll see in the list two trim objects called 'Cone - Inside All'. They are identical, apparently the result of accidental duplication. Just delete one of them (in both clusters). This is what causes the crash.

Thanks for your help Drace & Boris. Indeed, the two trim objects have been corrected, and now no Groboto's crash anymore. Just one question: how to make the front and back of Totomobile not disappear when I press "m"?

Yazorius,

The cluster responsible for front and back uses the Eyelet primitive, which currently cannot be converted to unified mesh (it simply disappears from the mesh version). The Eyelet is a vestige from version 2 where we did not have boolean clusters. Now you can very easily build your own Eyelet by combining cylinder Primary and hyperrod Outside Body trim, like this:

http://www.braid.com/boris/Forum/Eyelet.jpg

Right-click on Cylinder-a in the library, choose Place at World Center and enlarge it as necessary. Lasso it with the Bool tool to make it a Primary in a boolean cluster. Press E on it to activate it for editing (double-click on the Mac). In the BooleanTrims section of the library right-click on hyRod-outBody and choose Add to Current Cluster->Place at World Center. Press 9 (one or more times) so that hyperrod rotates 90 degrees from the cylinder. Now you can resize and move it and change various hyperrod parameters in the Edit panel to achieve all kinds of eyelet forms, much more than you can do with the predefined Eyelet primitive. And all of them are supported when comverting to mesh.

Thanks a lot. So, for this mysterious disparition, it was not really my fault ^_^" I'll do was you've told and make my own Eyelet primitive.
Thanks for your really fast answers. I'm sure I'll be able to learn and realise a lot of things with your rgeat gronoto software.
^_^

Here is the totomobile finally over. Thank you for help: without you, I never would have succeed. For thank, I propose the final modeling file made with Groboto3 (http://www.yazorius.com/totomobilefinal.gbr) : that everyone can, if he wants, to play with this model, keeping it in its original form, or by customizing it at leisure ^ _ ^

For fun, here is a picture of the model rendered in the software Vue10.
