I'm using windows trial version 2.9.9.j. I was working on a model and I had created only a few groups so far. At one point I made 8 tentacles using an autobot with the object count set at 80. I changed the autobot settings so each tentacle was a little different and placed them around 8 points of my model. Some of the tentacles I liked better than others, so I deleted 2 that I didn't like, and copied and mirrored 2 that I did like. As I copied and mirrored the second one, Groboto seemed to lock up. I couldn't do anything and all I got was the little animated cursor. (The spinning circle) I waited about 5 minutes and finally decided to just close and reopen Groboto. I hit the close button and it asked me if I wanted to save, so obviously it was no longer locked up. However, the next time I took a look at my groups list, there were 2,999 new groups created with the same naming prefix (ten-) I had used for the last copied tentacle. The new groups started at "ten-0001" and ended at "ten-2999". I could almost understand if it had made 80 new groups, the same number as the object count of the autobot tentacle, but not 2,999. Just wanted to make you aware of this.
By the way, the model meshed just fine.
