FolloPipe-draw

FollowPipe is a Chasing DrawBot These take a little practice but are fun and powerful.

With FolloPipe, the A:B objects can be of different types (unlike many other Bots that transition settings of a single type). Object ‘A’ is used for the pipe, ‘B’ for the joint.

FolloPipe has plenty of settings offering a lot of variety in the final form.

Try it with mirrors too.

General info on ‘Chasers’

Chasing DrawBots  - You start by placing the cursor on an existing object, then dragging away from that starting point. Their directions of movement are constrained (right angles for example), so they don’t really follow the cursor , rather they work to find a path to the cursors location. Unlike Sprouting Bots, Chaser Bots don’t react to other objects you touch while drawing.

groBo-HowTo Movie - You can simply play it, but it’s also set up for random access with the slider. Move to various points to see what’s happening in the zoomed inset, and read the text comments.

These HowTo movies are quite plain — no textures or cool lighting effects. However, that’s just for the sake of clarity — all of this can be done in real time with full-quality textures, fog & additional lights in place. (much bigger, cleaner and smoother than these compressed movies can show).

Note: this movie was made during groBoto 2.0 development. There are some minor interface differences in the final version.
